Gossips expected Verizon to be the first out the gate with the new Treo 700p due in 3 weeks but according to a post on Engadget, Sprint is still on track to deliver the Treo 700p at the end of this month

These ship dates are from Palm itself, and we think they'd be in the know if anyone is, so we're going to put our necks out one more time and proclaim Sprint as the (probable) first to ship the 700p.

HP listened to the masses and has added WIFI to its latest and greatest smartphones: the iPaq hw6710 and hw6715. That's a great move, as it was the main missing thing from the previous hw6510/hw6515 models (they required a SD card hack). It's not the only improvement: The Operating system will also be state-of-the-art with Windows Mobile 2005. The only casualty of the upgrade is the SD card slot that went away - I regret it deeply. However, the mini-SD slot remains as an extension.

metalgear_178x211.jpgSimWorks, an Anti-virus firm, has issued an alert informing users of a Malicious Trojan hidden inside cracked versions of the popular game, Metal Gear Solid. The Trojan, codenamed MetalGear.a, disables all Anti-virus programs and integrates a variant of the Cabir worm, which was detected on some devices in June 2004. The Trojan also installs a version of the Cabir worm, which seeks to spread itself by sending a file called SEXXXY.sis to any Bluetooth-enabled phones in the vicinity, SimWork says. If users accept and install this file, it disables the Symbian application icons that may be used to reverse the effects of the Trojan on your phone. The company has updated its anti-virus software that will detect and stop the Trojan before it's installed on your smart phone.

F-Origin has a new device to help you see things clearer- clearer on your PDA that is- as far as seeing the world clearer that will require more than a magnifying glass. The IRIS motion control display allows you to browse full-sized documents on the small screen of your PDA or mobile phone. The Iris allows you to rotate the device 90, 180 or 270 degrees with corresponding orientation change on the screen. With IRIS the screen works like an "electronic mirror" whose content is controlled with hand movements.

IRIS needs only some hardware (accelerometer) and a small piece of software code integrated into your device platform.

When I look at this I remember those play cards you lean to one side to show a different picture - the IRIS is so much cooler - SEE FLASH IMAGE OF THE IRIS IN ACTION
