HU-3340M 4-port mini USB 2.0 hub

Trust has introduced the HU-3340M a new 4-port USB hub. Features include USB 2.0 interface, durable and lightweight aluminum casing & an optional AC adapter. I really could do with a new USB hub to run between home & the office, crawling under my desk is just no fun, and at $16 plus a sleek look this could work with my industrial theme.

COMMANDO wireless optical mouse

The COMMANDO is a new pen shaped, wireless optical mouse from RWC set for release in Japan January 25. 2005 . The COMMANDO priced at 3,980 Yen is available in silver & white and will work with Windows 98 SE/Me/2000/XP and Mac OS 9.x. Other features include 800 — 1,200 dpi optical sensor, USB, plus it has up to 43 functions such as zoom when used with the provided software. Range scope 1.2 - 1.8 m up to 15hrs use of a 3hr charge.

Imation 2GB "FG-2GUSB2"

Here is another 2GB USB memory unit via imation JP. The "FG-2GUSB2" is a little nicer in the looks deparment, plus it is cheaper however it will most like rise an eyebrow at security when you try to leave with the secret files because it is so pretty. The 2GB unit will be available December 20th in Japan for around 30,000 Yen about 4000 Yen cheaper than the Logitech USB LMC-2GUD2L. The unit will work with Windows 98 SE/Me/2000/XP, Mac OS 9 & up. Other features include USB 2.0, rotary type cap & "Disk Manager II " software.

2GB Logitech USB LMC-2GUD2L

Here is a new USB memory unit from Logitech JP to help you get those documents out of the office without the big security pain. The 2GB USB memory "LMC-2GUD2L" will be available later this month for around 34,800 Yen in Japan. The LMC-2GUD2L will work with Windows 98/Me/2000/XP and Mac OS 9 - 9.2.2, Mac OS X 10.1.3 - 10.3.6. Other features include USB 2.0, write protection switch to prevent data deletion & cap for USB connector. Measures 19x67.5x10mm & weighs 9 g.

Z Series 1-inch USB Hard Drives

zseries.jpgBehavior Tech Computer has announced the second generation of their micro hard drive based storage devices - The Z series can provide up to 4.0GB storage capacity in an ultra small portable package. Besides the small factor which was repeated quite a few times in the release, the Z series have a 90 degree rotatable USB connector.(USB 2.0) The storage drives come in 3 different models with a capacity of 2.2GB (BTC-Z22) and 4.0GB (BTC-Z40). No pricing information as yet but incase you forgot small & very portable.

Toshiba's Multimedia Center Audio/USB Hub

Here is a look at Toshiba's $130 Multimedia Center Audio/USB Hub set for release Q1 2005. The baby is designed so you can connect your notebook computer to your home entertainment systems. The HUB comes with a connection that will allow you to plug a SPDIF coaxial audio cable and listen to MP3 play lists on home stereo speakers. The device also provides an integrated Ethernet port that will allow you to connect to a LAN or to the Internet.

IO Portable DVD±R/RW drive - DVRP-UN8W

Today appears to be a pretty busy day of releases for IO - In addition to the Rec-POT-M & the HDZ-UE1.6TS, They have also announced a portable DVD±R/RW drive -- "DVRP-UN8W". The new drive will be available in Japan late December - 26,565 Yen. Features entry speed for the DVD+R DL 2.4 x, the DVD±R 8 x and the DVD±RW 4x, USB 2.0 & the automatic ejection function software.
Measures 138x162x22mm & weighs approximately 440 g.

Eye O 's 1.6TB external HDD

The need for external space, if you find your self holding onto everything that catches your eye while online, chances are you run through external hard drives as fast as I do. When I hear about mammoth drives my eyes light up, while the price quickly squashes that light, here are some new drives to ogle at. Eye O or IO has announced 4 new external HDDs expected to hit the Japan market late December. The new models which all feature the Automatic backup software "EasySaver LE" and data elimination software "Disk Refresher LE" include the 294,000 Yen 1.6TB "HDZ-UE1.6TS" (my head is spinning at the concept of all that space). The HDZ-UE1.6TS can be divided into 4 - 400GB HDDs or you can use it as one, USB 2.0/IEEE 1394 & will work on Windows Me/2000/XP. Measures 136x266x131mm and weighs approximately 4.4 kg.
