The SP-250 is a new remote-controlled printer by Shinko Electric. The SP-250 device can capture a television picture instantaneously with the press of a button on the remote control then give a printout, say on the day of Janet's nipple situation you had this baby, you could have printed photos & sold them as exclusives, a lot of people did miss the nipple slip. Can also be used with other devices. The SP-250 has a card slot for CompactFlash, MemoryStick, and SD/MMC cards and will print out JPEG/TIFF images

The Kuro Box by Kurouto Shikou is a network attached storage (NAS) device for those times when need the reassurance that all your data is safely backed up, it is also a customizable embedded Linux development kit that will allow you to create a customized embedded Linux solution via a root access shell session. The Kuro Box boasts a PowerPC 200MHz processor with 64MB of RAM and 4MB of ROM. The Kuro Box includes a 10/100 Ethernet port and a single USB 2.0 port to allow connections to various network and USB devices. GPL Open Source is freely available for download along with an easy setup utility that prepares the hard drive of choice as a basic embedded Linux server.

The FlashPoint USB flash drive is a new USB drive that allows you to copy files on the go without a computer, laptop or palm computer. FlashPoint is a plug and play device you just place it in a USB slot and it will register with the computer as a removable drive. With FlashPoint the pen drive there is a subdirectory called "Share" which is the file that all files will copy from when you attach two FlashPoint drives together and copy files. In addition, because it is a hub, you can simply plug another device into the female connector and it recognizes more than one device.

LaCie has announced their new 21-inch LCD display with CRT-grade color rendering. The LaCie 321 Monitor utilizes SA-Superfine TFT technology and features 10-bit gamma correction, and 1600 by 1200 resolution. The LaCie 321 Monitor will be available in November for $1699.

Sony has annouced that the world "first" PC/PC-less DVD burner starts shipping next month. The DVDirect is standalone device which convert your camcorder or VCR tapes directly to DVD, the device can burn up to twelve hours of video at the lowest quality setting onto a single dual-layer disc, encoding footage in MPEG-2 format while automatically creating chapter stops. The Sony VRD-VC10 connects via USB 2.0. Maximum burn speed is 16X for DVD+R.

Olympus has announced their new 4 megapixel camera in the form of the i:robe IR-500.

The IR-500 features a 2.5-inch LCD that rotates a full 360 degrees and a 2.8x optical zoom lens which is part of their "Dock & Done" products that includes a 40GB portable hard drive with its own processor and the P-S100 postcard-sized photo printer.
