Designer Seungchan Lee has a concept called Turning Lamp - a PC mounted on a lamp base

It uses tactile interfaces people are familiar with when turning lamps on so a pull of a cord activates one of the 4 faces. Berlin interactive artists Gunnar Green and Frederic Eyl are showing off the Aperture Interactive Display. The concept is a facade installation that uses thousands of individual mechanical irises. The iris diaphragm matrix reacts to the amount of light in front of it, thus darker the object in front, wider the aperture will open.

Designer Bence Bogar is showing off a concept for SE PXi concept, a camera specifically created for left handusers.


Features include a 3.3 inch touchscreen, screen rotates automatically and is optimized for both finger and stylus input. The right side of the unit houses a jogdial and a secondary touchscreen which adapts to whatever app is currently open. The smartphone also sports not 1 but 2 card slots . The PXi is equipped with stereo speakers and a Cybershot class 5 megapixel camera.

Terrafugia Transition flying car vehicle

The Terrafugia Transition flying car vehicle could launch by end of 2008 says its developers.

This summer, they demonstrated the aircraft's automated folding wing, one of the biggest challenges to the design, and it worked perfectly, opening and closing over 500 times without incident. Says Terrafugia chief operating officer Anna Dietrich, "We're building the rest of the first vehicle now. Our schedule calls for us to start flight testing by the end of 2008, and so far we're on track for that."

Hyanide is a concept bike, created by German designers Oliver Keller and Tillman Schlootz for the 2006 Michelin Challenge Design.


Named for its supposed resemblance to a crouching hyena, the Hyanide is designed to run on a flexible rubber tread that spans the machine's entire underside. So if any part of the bottom is touching the ground, the Hyanide should be able to move, no matter how deep the quagmire, no matter how rough the terrain.

To set the alarm, the user pulls out the user-friendly handle from the digital clock until reaching the alarm time desired. The length of the wire represents amount of the time. Therefore, user can easily understand how much time remains before they must wake up. Pushing the LCD screen will turn off the alarm. The clock can be placed on a side table or hung on the wall.
