Motion Computing, has announced the Motion Computing LE1600TC tablet, a new mobile thin client version of its Motion Computing LE1600 tablet.
The Motion LE1600TC includes a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) for hardware-protected encryption, as well as secure digital certificate storage for authentication and secure e-mail applications. Its built-in fingerprint reader uses biometric data to prevent unauthorized access to system resources and encrypted data.
Priced from $1,899 and shipping now, the Motion LE1600TC runs the Windows(R) XP Embedded operating system. Sharp, Japan has announced the "Mebius PC-TX32J" , a new three-in-one LCD TV/DVD recorder with internal hard drive/desktop PC, set for release late June. Expected price 330,000 yen.
The PC-TX32J is an AV center PC that uses an AV-style case for the machine itself and provides a 32" LCD TV as a display. It uses a Celeron D 335 processor (2.8GHz), 512MB of DDR SDRAM, a 250GB hard drive, and has a DVD Super Multi drive with dual layer support. Read More

Lenovo/IBM has announced the ThinkPad X41, a new Tablet PC. The X41 Tablet is the smallest and lightest convertible tablet in its class, designed for extremely mobile users who spend most of their time working away from the office. This model has the ability to function both as a tablet and an ultraportable notebook, providing the flexibility to take handwritten notes directly on the screen with the Tablet Digitizer Pen. Samsung has announced the world's first laptop with built-in support for multiple-input, multiple output (MIMO) WLAN technology - NT-X20 .
MIMO uses existing 802.11b and 802.11g standards, but makes better use of the available radio spectrum by sending several data signals over a single radio channel.
The X20 laptop PCs will come with Airgo's True MIMO chip set, which works with 802.11a/b/g networks, Airgo said in a press release. In third party tests the Samsung laptops with the MIMO chipset provided 8x the speed and 13x the coverage as the latest Intel Centrino wireless chipset. In addition test showed it is two times more energy efficient reports Mobile Mag.
"Given their significant technology lead, Airgo's True MIMO is the best fit for embedded wireless in our new high-performance Samsung X20 laptops," K.H. Uhm, Samsung's vice president of marketing, said in a statement.

AOpen, a member company of Acer Group, drops one of its blockbusters – Mini PC -- at Computex Taipei 2005.
Mini PC, a revolutionary IT products developed in cooperation with Intel Corp., proclaims the advent of the "miniaturized personal computing age", according to Bernie Tsai, president of AOpen Inc.
"The launch of the unique Mini PC testifies the strong R&D capability of AOpen and demonstrates that the product development expertise of our company takes the leading position in the world," Tsai elaborates.

PC maker AOpen has been quick to attempt to stamp out any suggestions that its remarkably Mac Mini-like "Mini PC", jointly demonstrated at Computex 2005 this week with Intel, is intended to compete with the Apple product reports the Register.
The company even went as far as to quote a well-known computer market analyst that the Mini PC, which AOpen said was "a giant leap forward", is not the Wintel world's answer to the compact cut-price computer Apple began shipping earlier this year.

Tuesday, chipmaker Intel unveiled a concept PC at the Computex trade show in Taiwan.
The squarish metallic box, originally code-named Pandora closely resembles Apple Computer's Mac Mini. The device will be released under Taiwan-based AOpen's XC Cube product line .
According to Silent PC Review, AOpen's Pandora device has a slot load CD drive and power button in the front, along with three USB ports, a keyboard hookup and a serial port in the back for hooking into displays. The computer also has internal wireless networking connectors and uses a single blower fan to keep it cool. Read More
