Features include Intel (R) Pentium (R) M processor Ultralow voltage edition 733j (1.10GHz), RAM: 256/512/768/1280MB, Low temperature polysilicon 12.1 type TFT color type liquid crystal display -- 1,024x768 dot (XGA), HDD: 40/60/80GB (Ultra-ATA). Measures 272x237.5x25.2x27.2mm and Weighs 1.38kg. Maximum drive time approximately 5.4 hours. Available Feb 1st. 2005 - 164,850 Yen

Lifebook E8020

Fujitsu has announced the E8020 their new Intel Sonoma based lifebook . Features include Intel's Pentium M processor (in 1.73GHz, 2.0GHz, and 2.13GHz models), up to 2GB of 533 MHz DDR2 RAM, up to an 80GB hard drive, a 15.1-inch LCD screen, an optional ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600 64MB graphics card, and built-in 802.11a/b/g WiFi.

Toshiba Satellite M45

Toshiba has announced the Satellite M45 their new Sonoma Centrino based laptop featuring a built in Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG (802.11b/g) card providing high speed wireless surfing. The Satellite M45 will be available in two models, the M45-S331 featuring a 1.6GHz processor and the M45-S351 featuring a 1.73GHz processor. Other features include the Intel based Graphics Media Accelerator 900 chipset, 80GB HDD or a 100GB, 512MB RAM with the ability to upgrade to 2GB, built-in Harman/Kardon speakers, Wide angle screen (1280x800), Firewire Port IEEE 1394 and Bridge media adapter that accepts SecureDigital(TM), Multimedia, MemoryStick, MemoryStick Pro and SmartMedia memory cards.

Estimated single unit price for the Toshiba M45 Satellite Series is $1,499 for the S331 model and $1,699 for the S351.

NEC JP has announced the Intel Sonoma based "VersaPro" laptop. The new laptop will be available in Japan from February 28th for 169,890 Yen. Features the Intel 915GM Express chip set, Pentium M 733J (1.10GHz/ ultralow voltage) CPU, 12.1" liquid crystal, DDR2-SDRAM (maximum 1,280MB), 256MB memory, 40GB HDD, Gigabit Ethernet, Windows XP Professional and wireless LAN function

Intel Sonoma official

The world's biggest semiconductor company Intel yesterday released the new generation of Centrino processors called "Sonoma" offering faster wireless Internet connection, more multimedia-functions and higher security. It is expected that over 150 notebook models will carry the new Centrino processor by the middle of next year. Specifications of Sonoma include an increase of the frontside bus speed from 400MHz to 533Mhz, supports the 802.11a wireless standard, in addition to the "b" and "g" standards, new graphics architecture provides twice the performance of the previous Centrino models, allowing Sonoma-equipped notebooks to run high definition video, Intel developed HD audio architecture, addition of DDR2 RAM and PCI express

Toshiba, JP, has announced Dynabook SS MX and Dynabook SS LX their new Sonoma-based notebooks. The 1.1-inch thick Dynabook SS MX features a 1.1GHz CPU, 12-inch XGA screen, 5-hour battery, DVD-R/RW/RAM, 802.11b/g, Bluetooth, 60GB HDD, SD and CompactFlash slots, and 256MB RAM. The 0.89-inch thick Dynabook SS LX features an Intel 725 1.6GHz CPU, 14-inch display, 512MB RAM, 802.11b/g, 80GB SATA HDD, 64MB nVidia GeForce 2 Go 6200, Gigabit Ethernet, SD and CompactFlash.

Sharp PC-XG70H , PC-XG50H

Sharp Corp. JP has announced the PC-XG70H and the PC-XG50H their new multimedia notebook PCs with screens as bright as the company's liquid crystal display TVs. According to Sharp the screens are the brightest in the industry for notebook PCs. Features 15-inch TFT-LCDs (thin-film transistor LCDs) with a brightness of 630 candela per square meter, 1,024 pixels by 768 pixels resolution, built-in analog TV tuners and come with remote controls that enable the models to link to the Internet and other devices such as DVD players. The PC-XG70H has a 160G-byte hard-disk drive (HDD), and the PC-XG50H has 80G-byte disk.

The PC-XG70H (240,000 Yen) and the PC-XG50H (200,000 Yen) will go on sale in Japan on Jan. 28 and Jan. 22 respectively

Dell's first Sonoma laptops

Looks like that Intel Sonoma Non disclosure agreement (NDA) set until the 18th/19th of this month, has gone out the door. Dell's first Intel Sonoma chipset based laptops specifications and images have leaked onto the Internet. The leaked include The Inspiron 6000 and the Inspiron 9300. Engadget reports the Inspiron 6000 will feature a 15.4-inch, WSXGA+ (1680x1050) LCD screen, 1.73GHz Pentium M processor, 512MB of DDR2 RAM, 80GB hard drive, dual-layer 8xDVD+/-RW drive, 128MB ATI Mobility RADEON X300 PCI-Express video card, built-in 8-in-1 memory card reader, and built-in 802.11b/g WiFi. While The Inspiron 9300 features a 17-inch WXGA+ (1440x900) LCD screen, 1.73GHz Pentium M processor, 1GB of RAM, 80GB hard drive, dual-layer 8xDVD+/-RW drive, 256MB NVIDIA GeforceFX 6800 Go PCI-Express video card, and built-in 802.11a/b/g WiFi.

Benq Sonoma laptops leaked

Taiwanese manufacturer Benq has announced three Intel Sonoma based notebooks -- the Joybook S52, S72 and A82 machines. The Intel Sonoma based machines feature 90 nanometer Dothan CPUs, 533MHz front side bus, XD bit security, 915 Express integrated graphics chip, triple mode wireless, and high definition audio. The S52 features a 13-inch screen and surround sound. The S72 features a 14-inch screen, a remote control with laser pointer, and ATI Mobility Radeon X600.

While the A82 features a 15.4-inch screen, Radeon X600, surround sound and laser pointer remote control. The machines will go on sale in February. Not expected to make our shores
