Sony, Japan has announced the VPL-VW100 HD SXRD, a new Projector based on 0.61 type full HD SXRD panel (Three SXRD (Silicon X-tal Reflective Display) panels are integrated to provide the HD resolution) with a resolution of 1,920x1,080 pixels. Other features include 15,000:1 contrast, a 400W xenon lamp and DVI and HDMI inputs. The VPL-VW100 HD SXRD Projector will be available in Japan from December 10th for 1,365,000 Yen (~$10,000).

Sony, Japan has announced the Sony Locationfree LF-PK1, a new TV place shift device, that enables consumers to watch TV via the Internet writes i4u. The Sony LF-PK1 connects wirelessly to a PC running a Sony media streaming software (LFA-PC2). Users can connect to this PC and view live TV or video recordings.

Chip Giant Intel, and Philips have announced a joint venture to market home entertainment systems with Intel chips, Intel said on Friday. Intel will supply a processor, chipset and software for a Philips media center that will allow customers to store and share photos, music and video in a single system, as they promote digital products for the home reports Extreme Tech
The PC-based Philips Showline Media Center will include a card that allows users to watch two TV channels at once, as well as a 250-gigabyte hard disk drive for storing music and photo collections and a recorder for DVDs and CDs.
