Samsung Electronics has unveiled the world's first and largest single-sheet 40-inch active matrix (AM) organic light-emitting diode (OLED) for flat panel TV applications.
The prototype of 40-inch high-definition OLED wide screen boasts faster video response times with low power consumption.
The 40-inch OLED panel will be demonstrated for the first time at the world's largest display industry event, Society for Information Display (SID) 2005 International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition in Boston, May 24- 27.

Sanyo has announced a new range of LCD televisions featuring the newly Sanyo developed pixel enhancement technology to intensify picture quality reports Gadgetry Blog. The 32- and 27-inch LD4s are the first to include the newly developed SANYO ColourPlus+ picture enhancement technology, a unique development which works on refining both monochrome and color levels. The 32-inch product features a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and brightness of 550cd/m2. The 27-inch panel features a contrast level of 900:1 and brightness level of 550cd/m2. Both have a response time of 8ms.

Hitachi, Japan has announced the "DV-DH161T" a new 160GB HDD recorder. Set for release early June, expected price 130, 000 Yen.
In addition, Hitachi announced the "DV-RV8500" VHS/DVD player set for release middle of June. Expected price 50,000 Yen.
The Hitachi DV-DH161T is a low end version of the DV-DH160T hi-vision recorder announced last November. Features include 160GB HDD , BS/110 CS digital broadcast and terrestrial analog tuner support , DVD-RAM 5x speed, DVD-RW 4x speed, DVD-R 8x speed, supports playback of DVD+R/RW, video recording modes XP/SP/LP/EP , DVD-RAM/RW and input from DVD cam "Wooo" support. Measures 430x330x68mm and weighs approximately 5.4kg.

SONY, Japan has announced 3 new DVD players - DR-HX92W, DR-HX82W and DR-HX72 , 2 new VHS players - DR-VH93 and DR-VH83, a 2 in 1 playern - RDZ-D5 and a slim type DVD player set for release on May 20th. 5 of the new Sony DVD Recorder have Digital high vision tuners and two come with conventional analog tuners. The RDZ-D5, home burner supports DVD +/- , DVD+R DL (Double Layer). The DVD player has a 250Gb HDD for video recording purposes. he RDZ-D5 can be connected to a HDV Camcorder to record DVDs.

Sony Japan has announced the VPL-PX41, a new DATA projector featuring 3500 lumens and a UHP (Ultra High Performance) light bulb of 265W. It is 480p/720p/1080i compatible but only projects at a resolution of 1024x768 reports akihabaranews.com. This data projector comes with an Ethernet port and is capable of projecting images even when it's inclined at 90 degrees.

Takara introduces six different small plastic boxes with adorable animal faces. A pig, cow, chick, duck cat and dog make up the chorus of the Cubees. Just press the button on the top of the Cubee and it will open and close it's front face flap and quack (or moo or oink, chirp, meow or bark) a song. If you interconnect additional Cubees, the one on top of the singing pyramid will belt out the lead while the others "sing" back-up.
