Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (Panasonic) has announced the NV-HV72G-S and the NV-HV62-S VHS Hi-fi video decks. Both Models will be available in Japan from March 1st. The HV72G is expected to cost 15,000 Yen, while the HV62G is expected to have a 14,000 Yen price tag. Models feature one touch operation and 5x video recording function.
Measures 360x226x89mm and weighs approximately 2.5kg.

Skype and PChome Online have partnered to offer the PChome Touch-1 Skype certified corded USB phone. The Touch-1, priced at $699 Taiwan dollars ($22 U.S.), connects to any PC and functions like a traditional landline phone. Users can place SkypeOut calls using the numberic keypad, as well as, receive calls from other Skype users. Other features include microphone mute, quick dial, and backlight LED with a status indicator.

Sony, JP, announced "happy Vega" their new liquid crystal television series featuring the 32" KDL-S32A10 330, 000 Yen, the 26" KDL-S26A10 - 280,000 Yen. the 23" KDL-S23A10 - 230,000 Yen and the 19" KDL-S19A10 180,000 Yen. Models will be available on February 22nd in Japan.
The 32", 26" and 23" have a 1,366x768 dot resolution while the 19" has a 1,280x768 dot resolution. All models feature 500cd/m2 picture brightness, vision angle up and down left and right 170 degrees, terrestrial analog tuner, terrestrial BS 110 degree CS digital tuner and integrated "hi-vision video processor" circuit.
The 32V" measures 79.2x9.9x56.4cm and weighs 16kg, 26V" measures 65.8x9x47.4cm and weighs 12.5kg, 23V" measures 56.6x8.9x41and weighs 6.7kg.

German business-management software maker SAP AG has announced the acquisition of TomorrowNow Inc., a supplier of software maintenance and support services for PeopleSoft applications. TomorrowNow offers its services to about 100 companies that use programs from SAP, PeopleSoft and JD Edwards, which was bought by PeopleSoft in 2003. TomorrowNow provides bug fixes, software updates to comply with changes in laws and regulations, and technical support. Customers include Coors, Lockheed Martin, NBC Universal, EDS, and Safeway. This news comes just one day after Oracle outlined its plans for integrating PeopleSoft's applications with its own. SAP has outlined a package of maintenance and support services for owners of PeopleSoft and J.D. Edwards applications. The acquisition of TomorrowNow, a third-party services company founded by former PeopleSoft executives, is a critical element of SAP's new offerings.
. As part of SAP, the 37-employee company will continue to compete for business on that basis. McDermott promises, "We will put a lot of additional resources into TomorrowNow."

Nintendo Co.JP has started online reservation of the new adapter for the Game Boy Advance SP that will let the handheld play back MPEG-4 video and MP3 audio files much like the Sony PSP. The adapter called Playan will be released on February 21st for 5,000 Yen ($48). The adapter has a slot that accepts SD cards and includes a built-in Broadcom VC01PXX-ES2 hardware decoder. Supports up to a 1GB SD card. Features 128x96, 176x144, 240x176, 320x240 and 352x288 dot resolution for video playback, ( 64kbps -- 1Mbps bit rate and 6 - 30fps frame rate support), MPEG-4 & ASF support, MP3 playback support (maximum bit rate 1.5Mbps) & SD-Video support. Samsung recently announced the DVD-HD850, DVD-HD950, and DVD-V9500 high-def conversion DVD players, designed for consumers who want to get the most out of their HD displays with their existing DVD collections. The players use a digital process that upgrades the standard DVD resolution to high-definition resolution with 1080i, 720p, and 768p signals.
Samsung's DVD-HD850 and DVD-HD950 players include HDMI outputs for simple and single-cable connection of uncompressed digital video. The DVD-HD950 adds a white LCD screen, 6 channel out and DVI outputs, plus support for DVD-Audio and SACD playback.
The DVD-HD850 will be available in March for an MSRP of $199. The DVD-HD950 will be available in May for an MSRP of $249 The DVD-V9500 will be available in June for an MSRP of $249.

Verizon has unveiled a version of Verizon One the works as intended. Verizon One integrates several technologies -- including a DSL modem, 802.11g wireless router, 5.8 Ghz cordless telephone and color touch screen -- on a single desktop appliance that allows users to seamlessly manage all of their communications needs and devices. The Verizon One features include one-touch dialing, visual voice mail, onscreen memo pad, e-mail previews, scheduled call-forwarding, real-time call management, personal calendar and address book and easily accessed updates on weather, news, sports and entertainment highlights. Verizon One will be available to Verizon broadband customers during the first half of 2005 .

The Inquirer is reporting on news (rumors) of Nokia halting development and production on its portable gaming/phone system, the N-Gage, thanks to poor sales last year. The rumor also claims that "Nokia will get rid of its entire Bochum, Germany facility by Q1 2006. According to the inquirer that includes the production facility as well.
