Sony Japan has announced plans to exhibit the "Laser Dream Theater," at the 2005 World Exhibition to be held from March 25th 2005 in Aichi, Japan. Based of the newly developed GxL projection system the screen measures 10m x 50m. GxL laser projection display technology employs light diffraction plating, that uses Sony's "GLV (Grating Light Valve)" system. Color representation is controlled by a GxL element which supports each of the Red, Green, or Blue colored lasers. The combination of these three lights will allow for vivid image reproduction.

NETGEAR has announced the MP115 Wireless Digital Media Player-touted as NETGEAR's easy-to-use networked digital home entertainment solution. The MP115 streams digital media content wirelessly from your PC or the Internet to your TV and home stereo system. Operates on both 802.11b and 802.11g networks, works with existing PCs, and connects to the television set through popular AV jacks.
The Wireless Digital Media Player supports MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, BMP, MP3 (up to 320kbps), Windows Media Audio (WMA8 and WMA 9), WAV, M3U, PLS, and streaming MP3 formats. It's also interoperable with any Universal Plug-and-Play (UPnP)-enabled server software.

Infinium Labs has announced plans to demonstrate its flagship Phantom Game Service(TM) - (that much talked about gaming system that supports games on-demand, game rentals, game demos, seamless upgrades and patch management-) built on Microsoft's Windows XP Embedded technology at Las Vegas Convention Center during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES),Thursday to Sunday, Jan. 6 - 9,2005. Infinium has announced that nearly two dozen leading game providers have committed to provide content for the Phantom Game Service, including Atari, Codemasters, Eidos, Vivendi Universal and many more. The company has announced it will launch the service in 2005.

Sharp JP has announced a firmware update for the "BD-HD100" blue ray disk HDD recorder. The update will be available for download form satellite from Dec 22nd - May 2005. Apparently when the connected to a TV with HDMI output, when power of the BD-HD100 is turned on while the TV is on, image does not come out. Satellite download is done through the BS digital broadcast antenna.

Panasonic JP has announced a 21 inch TV with integrated DVD and Video Player. The "TH-21VFD20" goes on sale December 25th in Japan , price is speculated at around 65,000 Yen. Features include DVD player that supports DVD-RAM DVD video, in addition to DVD-R, supports plackback of video from CDs and CD-R/RW , VHS Player has a Super Drive and 4 heads, and built in VHF/UHF/CATV analog tuners.
