Hitachi Taple Display

Due to my limited translation skills -- the following information might contain some inaccuracies, however due to the uber cool factor of this tidbit I am sure you will overlook any errors -- if you care to correct me send me an email. Hitachi is showing off a prototype for some sort of table display that reacts to shadows projected at the table -- so say you are in a meeting and you point to something on the display table it should do something. Hitachi is aiming for a 2005 release of this new product which features a small built in liquid crystal projector "CPX328J," projection of 42 types of images on the acrylic top board & built-in camera to help recognize shadows for the magic to happen , you know dragging stuff around clicking etc. Very cool.

Gran Turismo 4

Tech Japan has a pretty in-depth look (PlayStation Jpn Press release translation) of all things Gran Turismo 4 . Even though this is not gadget news OK maybe it is Gadget news depending on how you look at it. I am just into all the lovely pictures. Sony had a big party for the GT4 inviting all the media people to write nice things. The GT4 will have 700 cars up from the 650 since the announcement at Tokyo Game Show 2004, some sort of NIKE collaboration, new Fuji course, BMW 3 series and some special editions like in Europe where you will see the Nissan 350Z.
