The DVX-POD 7010 is a 7in portable multimedia player developed by MobiNote. The DVX-POD 7010 supports video playback of MPEG-4, Microsoft WMV, Apple QuickTime 6 and DivX 3.11, 4.x and 5.x files. It can also be used as an MP3 player (MP3, WMA) and personal digital photo album (JPEG, BMP and GIF).

The device weighs only 600 grams and features a wide-screen (16:9) 7in colour LCD screen with 720x480 resolution. The low profile DVX-POD 7010 does not sport a DVD loader, but instead stores files on its 20 GB hard drive. According to the company, the hard drive can support about 30 MPEG-4 films, 5,000 MP3 files, or 20,000 pictures - MORE via designtechnica

In the market for an affordable HDTV Ready LCD TV, good news, Walmart is offering the Tatung 23" Widescreen HD LCD TV Monitor with Built-in Speakers for $998. Granted most American consumers have never heard of the Tatung brand this is still a great deal brought to our attention via i4u.

The LCD TV has a resolution of 1280 x 768 (WXGA), a 400:1 contrast ratio, 16 MS response time, 3-D comb-filtering and Motion-adaptive DE-interlacing. The LCD screen also has a Built-in TV/cable tuner and Picture in Picture function.

Gossip Columnist Ron Reid Reporting - Tech & Gaming blogs have gone wild with news, that Sony is planning the release of a slimmed down version of the original PlayStation 2 console called "PStwo".

The PStwo console will be up to 30% smaller than its counterpart and will retail at $149. That price is to be seen.

The new console is said to be due for release before Christmas with an announcement expected from Sony as early as next week.

The news has not yet been confirmed by Sony.

ILY Enterprise has announced that it will begin shipping of the SlimDVDup CD/DVD duplicator in early October. The SlimDVDup allows users to quickly make identical copies of video, data, photos or audio discs without being connected to a computer. It measures 6"x 7" x 1.5" and is housed in a case, featuring a LCD status display. SlimDVDup supports a large variety of media, including CD-R/RW, DVD+/-R/RW or DVD-RAM formats. The SlimDVDup can also be used as a portable external drive or a backup CD/DVD burner via its high-speed USB 2.0 interface. It will be $700 and is compatible with Mac OS X or later. - MORE
