PhoneArena is reporting that the Samsung U940 is the Verizon's variant of the F700

The U940 features a full Touch-Screen on the front (440x240 pixels), slide out QWERTY keyboard, and 2MP Camera (instead of 3MP as on the F700).

Samsung will launch 40-inch OLED TVs in 2010 a roadmap reveals.

Samsung will follow up with flexible OLED displays by 2012. The point? The tech will have lower costs than LCDs or Plasmas eventually, once production ramps up and enough units are out there.

AMOLED will offer a much clearer image even in high light situations.

Samsung plans to four AMOLED phones in the Asia marketplace.

At FPD International 2007, in Yokohama, Japan, Samsung will showcase a new 40-inch Full HD LCD TV panel thats just 10 millimeters thick.


The panel, using an LED backlight, reproduces 92 percent of the NTSC standard for color saturation and features low power consumption of 90 watts or less

Samsung Electro-Mechanics has developed a micro-fuel cell and hydrogen generator that runs on water.


"When the handset is turned on, metal and water in the phone react to produce hydrogen gas," explained Oh Yong-soo, vice president of Samsung Electro-Mechanics' research center. "The gas is then supplied to the fuel cell where it reacts with oxygen in the air to generate power." Other fuel cells need methanol to produce hydrogen, while Samsung's needs only water.
