The Philips SA3100 features 1GB or 2GB of flash memory, a 1.8-inche 160 x 128 LCD, supports MP3 and DRM-free WMA, SMV video playback and JPEG viewing.

ZMP 's Miuro Robot Speaker is a super cute gadget with iPod docking station. the 14-inch-long machine, which looks like a ball, also features two Kenwood speakers in its wheels.

Short for "music innovation based on utility robot technology" users lock their iPod into the top of the robot, which comes in white, black, yellow or red.

The unit responds to a handheld remote control and users can also opt to have music streamed to it wirelessly from a PC. $930

Archos Wireless HD-Downloading Handheld Player?

Gizmodo shares an email from Archos hinting at wirelessly browsing and downloading HD movies. Archos is set to unveil their new player on June 14. Gossips believe the innovative company will produce a Wireless HD-Downloading Handheld Player.

The player features a new user interface , 2.4-inch color LCD touchscreen, supported MP3, Ogg, WMA, as well as WMV and MPEG-4 video. 2GB and 4GB versions were announced.

BBC to trial TV on demand

Over the next 6 months BBC will roll out a trial, giving 20,000 viewers access to radio and TV programmes from the corporation's archives. The trial will make around 1,000 hours of content available to a closed group of 20,000 , with another 50 hours available to anyone to watch or listen to.

"The purposes of the trial... is to inform the BBC's future proposition for a public service on-demand archive service on bbc.co.uk, which will require approval from the BBC Trust , and to see where we should draw the line between a licence fee funded service and a commercial service," says Ashley Highfield, BBC director for Future Media and Technology.
