Creative has offically announced the Creative Zen Vision portable media player. The new 30Gb player is available for pre-order at Creative.

Zen Vision's 30GB multimedia center is bound to impress anyone who wants to carry all their digital entertainment files - tens of thousands of photos, up to 120 hours of videos, and 15,000 songs - everywhere. This premier MP3 player with 3.7" SharpPix high resolution 262,144 color screen with transflective technology makes photos look almost as good as - or even better than - the real thing, even in bright sunlight! Zen Vision is not only lightweight and slim, beneath its classy magnesium casing are features that will fulfill all your digital entertainment needs.

An article in SFGATE suggested the retail price of the Creative Zen Vision would be $400.

"Sim, 50, who founded Creative Technologies in 1981, was in town to help promote several new products, including a new $ 400 Zen Vision, which plays MP3s, videos and photos. The device would help Creative, which has its U.S. headquarters is in Milpitas, counter a rumored but still unannounced Apple iPod video player.

The Zen Vision is part of a line of handheld Zen digital media players that have gained visibility for Creative among mainstream consumers."

Earlier today Creative's new portable media player, the Zen Vision, appeared on the Creative Site. The Creative Zen Vision will feature a 3.7-inch screen with a resolution of 640x480 pixels and 262k colors and a 30GB hard drive.

Other features include ablity to play Video (Video codecs will include; AVI, MPEG 1/2/4-SP, WMV, DivX 4 and 5, XviD, and motion JPEG) and Audio files (OOG; MP3, WMA, and WMA w/ digital rights management support) with the extra added ability to view your digital photos and Compact Flash card slot (I & II).

The Zen Vision measures 124.2 x 74.4 x 20.1mm. Battery life 4.5 hours in video mode and 13 hours audio
