Magellan unveils thinnest GPS device

Magellan has unveiled the world's thinnest GPS device.


There are three new models in all. The Maestro 4200, 4215 and 4245. The high end 4245 offers live traffic updates, text-to-speech and Bluetooth for hands-free calling.

 
 

 

 

Gossips (German magazine Focus) claim that Apple will be making in-car system for Mercedes.


Mercedes will exclusively offer the new Apple set for six months. On an introduction on the market presumably 2009 are to be counted. Unclear it is still whether Apple - similar as with iPhone - on Google will trust maps as navigation aid.

Kenwood, has announced the release of the HDV-770, a new all-in-1 GPS system that has a 7" touch screen, a HDD, a CD/DVD player and a TV tuner. The sleek HDV-770 , will be Video DVD compatible but it can also play MP3 and WMA files . (also supports the iPod).

CES 2006, Mio annonced two new GPS units - the C710 and C310 personal navigation devices. The C710 features Bluetooth connectivity and embedded, lifetime traffic monitoring functionality. The unit also has media player functionality, allowing photo viewing and video playback on its 3.5-inch TFT LCD reports Engadget.

The C310 includes a similar features to that of the C710 (no Bluetooth or embedded traffic monitoring)
Both units measure 5.5 x 3 x 1-inches and will be available in Q1 for $899 and $599, respectively.
