Sharp Corp. has developed advanced LCD panels that would offer sharper moving images on portable devices such as mobile phones, pitting it against organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays.
The new panels have a response speed three times as fast as its conventional panels and the world's highest contrast ratio for 2-inch LCDs used in mobile devices, Sharp said.

Vodafone,Japan has announced the Sharp AQUOS 905SH digital terrestrial TV mobile phone.
The Sharp AQUOS 905SH features a Mobile ASV LCD screen based on Sharp's AQUOS LCD TV line reports i4u.
Features include 4 hours of continuous viewing time,capable of receiving 'One Seg' terrestrial digital and analog TV broadcasts, recording to memory card feature , ability to make calls while watching TV, screen of the Sharp 905SH measures 2.6 inch. It features 160 degree viewing angle, 300:1 contrast ratio and a resolution of 400x240px.
The 3G 905SH TV handset will go on sale in Japan starting May 27th 2006.

Sharp, Japan has announced the Zaurus SL-C3200, a new Linux PDA with 6GB Hard drive. The PDA is powered by an Intel PXA270 Processor at 416 MHz, 64MB RAM and 128MB ROM. Features include a VGA res (640 x 480) 3.7 inch LCD display, a QWERTY keyboard, SD and Compact Flash card slot, USB port and IRDA connectivity.

Vodafone has anounced the Sharp 904SH , touted as the world's first mobile phone will a full VGA-resolution display, offering 480 x 640 pixels. The 904SH also features a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera with 2x optical zoom and facial recognition biometric security. Other features of the phone include 3D motion sensor, FeliCa e-money capability, Bluetooth, GPS, and miniSD memory card slot. The 904SH is a WCDMA/GSM phone that will be available in Japan starting in late April.

Sharp Japan has announced the DV-ARV22, a new 3 in Recorder featuring a 250 GB hard drive, VHS recorder and CD / DVD recorder. It has a HDMI output terminal for excellent digital audio/video quality. High speed dubbing is also possible between the three sources. It is very easy to use a large orange light on the front panel indicates the unit is recording and a blue light indicates playback. It also includes an Ethernet port and a Firewire (i-Link port). It comes with a fully functional 48 key remote control.

Sharp, Japan has announced the Papyrus PW-9920, a new electronic dictionary set to go on sale from January 27 priced at 44,100 yen.
The PW-9920 is stylishly designed but maintains the solid construction of previous models thanks to the "New Inner Protect" system. The outer casing is made of aluminium panel while high-strength metal plating is used to protect the LCD panel from external pressure or force.
The 63 installed content sources are closely related to daily life and include Kojien (5th ed.), Genius E-J/J-E dictionary and Mypedia encyclopedic dictionary. In particular, health-related contents have been strengthened to include items such as the "NHK Diet Brain" dictionary that summarises current knowledge about diet and health.
The dictionary is 141 x 107 x 16 mm in size and weighs approximately 260 grams (including battery). It has a 320x240 5.4" FSTN LCD screen that can display a maximum of 32 characters x 18 lines (using a 9pt font). Power is supplied by 2 AAA batteries.
