XSATA links your 360’s drive to your computer’s

Datel has announced XSATA, a new plug ‘n’ play peripheral that sits between your Xbox 360 and the hard drive.

Using your Xbox 360 file manager software such as the free PC app Xplorer360, you can transfer materials from your console's hard drive to your PC, using your computer's hard disc space to store demos, game saves and other such materials you're not currently using. When you need them again, just transfer back to the XB360's drive. Once the data is on your PC, you can email anything that's not locked to your machine or LIVE account to your friends for them to use on their own consoles too.

forced-fan cooling device for the Xbox 360 game console

Nyko Technologies has unveiled a forced-fan cooling device for the Xbox 360 game console.

The $19.99 Intercooler 360 add-on peripheral cools the console by forcing air out of the 360 through a snap-on attachment. The device competes with the Pelican PL-3619, a device that retails at about the same price as the Intercooler 360.

Microsoft Cuts the 360 "Core System" from its product lineup

Microsoft Corp. has announced that they are cutting the Xbox 360 Core System from it's product lineup effective immediately. The news comes after Sony's announcement to make a hard drive a standard feature for it's upcoming PlayStation 3 console.

Microsoft is also pressuring 3rd party developers to make their games require the hard drive add-on, in order to get existing Core System customers to buy the hard drive add-on.

Microsoft is looking to capitalize on World Cup fever as the Xbox and Xbox 360 have been named the official game consoles of the international tournament. In Japan, MS is collaborating with FIFA, Adidas, and Electronic Arts to release a limited edition Xbox 360 bundle themed around the World Cup.

Microsoft will release a limited edition Xbox 360 bundle--the Xbox 360 Blue Limited Edition: 2006 FIFA World Cup--alongside the launch of Electronic Arts' 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany soccer game on April 27 in Japan.
