At least eight pornographic videos will go on sale in Japan exclusively for the PlayStation Portable (PSP), the hand-held version of Sony's popular home game machine.
A Tokyo-based sex-video maker declared on its website that on July 8 it will release the world's first adult UMDs, optical discs that play on a PSP. The five titles carry price tags from 2,800 yen or 3,800 yen (25 or 35 dollars).
For its part, Sony said it had no power to stop the release of the PSP porn videos.
"It is difficult for us to impose restrictions," said Sony Computer Entertainment spokesman Koichiro Katsurayama.

Hackers have figured out how to run unauthorized programs and games on the U.S. version of Sony Corp.'s new handheld game console, the playstation portable or PSP.
The exploit may not be practical or safe (an accompanying warning says it could cause damage if done improperly), but it represents a challenge to Sony's policy of tight control and opens the possibility that PSP games could be pirated reports Business Week.

Sony Computer Entertainment Corporation, Japan, has announced the (PSP-140B)" Remote with black Headphones" and (PSP-190) "Battery Charger" PSP accessories to be released on July 14th in Japan. The price of the PSP-140B is 2,940 yen, and the PSP-190 is 3,675 yen.
The PSP-140B is a color variation of the "PSP-140" remote with headphones. The cable and headphones are black.

"The law is clear, and the activity of parallel importing of PSP products from the U.S./Japan is unlawful. It should be clearly understood that under no circumstances does Sony Computer Entertainment consent to such activities," A spokesman said in a statement.

Retailers like Best Buy and EBgames with a stocked line of Sony-branded PSP accessories indicate that Sony may start shipping a standalone $199 PSP to retailers. According to IGN Entertainment's GamerMetrics, a leading videogame business intelligence tool analyzing awareness, engagement, and purchase intent of more than 20 million gamers, , the PlayStation3 and Xbox 360 were the buzz of the E3 show, the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 had a 60% "mindshare" (among the network's 2.1 million daily unique visitors) (PS3: 34%/Xbox 360 26%), followed by 17% GameCube, 10% Playstation 2 and 5% PC. Hand-helds and the Xbox had less than 6% between them. The top 5 most popular games per traffic were The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone, Devil May Cry 4 and Vision GT.
