NVIDIA's CFO Marv Burkett speaking at a J.P. Morgan technology conference said the PlayStation 3's RSX (the hardware's GPU) isn't finished, still remains in development, and no silicon of the chip is available yet, reports Bit-Tech. Burkett says the RSX demonstrations weren't actually running on the RSX, but an upcoming NVIDIA high-end desktop product in SLI mode.

Nintendo, Japan, has announced a brand-new colored Nintendo DS that will go on sale at the company's Pokemon Center for 15,000 yen (~ $140 USD). The purple/pink shaded machine with the Pokemon character Mew will go on sale July 16.

Gizmondo has announced August 11th, 2005 as the street date for North America of its new multi-entertainment handheld.
The Gizmondo is powered by Microsoft Windows CE advanced real-time operating system, boasting a 2.8-inch TFT colour screen with a Samsung ARM9 400Mhz processor and incorporates the GoForce 3D 4500 NVIDIA graphics accelerator.
It provides cutting-edge gaming, multimedia messaging, an MP3 music player, Mpeg4 movie playing capability, a digital camera and a GPRS network link to allow wide-area network gaming. Additionally, it contains a GPS chip for location-based services, is equipped with Bluetooth for use in multi-player gaming and accepts SD and MMC card accessories.

Everyone was expecting Sony to deliver a technological powerhouse with its PlayStation 3 debut here at E3 and Sony sure didn't disappoint. The PlayStation 3 combines the power of the Cell processor and the Nvidia-based RSX graphics processor to create what Sony Computer Entertainment's Ken Kutaragi calls a "supercomputer for computer entertainment."

Speaking in Los Angeles, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's Phil Harrison said the decision to launch the PSP handheld gaming device in Europe much later than elsewhere was made to ensure there would be enough in the shops reports BBC.
The PSP goes on sale on 1 September, six months after it hit US stores, and nine months after its Japanese debut. The Sony PSP multimedia portable games device will have the same features as the US version: console, rechargeable battery, power pack, case, headphones, 32 MB Memory Stick Pro Duo, a UMD (universal media disc) containing movie and game demos, and a coupon for the UMD movie "Spiderman 2."

Nintendo is partnering with IGN Entertainment to create an innovative network for portable video games that is not only expansive but also extremely easy for everyone to use. Set to debut later this year, the wireless service for Nintendo DS will use IGN's GameSpy Technology to let people around the world link easily and wirelessly to play games, just as if they were playing face-to-face.

Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony are all expected to give details on the next generation of video-game consoles, all three of which are expected to hit the market over the next year and a half. Microsoft looks to lead the pack with the "official" unveiling of the next generation Xbox, called Xbox 360 a week ahead of E3, slated for May 16 to May 20 in Los Angeles, . Microsoft will preview Xbox 360 to the world (people without access to the internet) on Thursday via an MTV special. The Xbox 360 console is expected this November for $300 & $360.
