Digital Cube, Korea, is set to introduce the 2nd generation of the i-Station called the i-Station i2 from May 23rd. Known features include USBOTG and GPS, 20Gb and 30Gb versions, in-line remote and 5.1 channel sound output and SRS effects.

Matsushita Electric Industries Corporation, Japan will release two portable DVD players with 9" widescreen TFT LCDs. Both are Open Price. The estimated retail price and release date of the "DVD-LX95" is 80,000 yen on June 15th, and the "DVD-LS90" for 60,000 yen on July 1st. Both models include remote controls.

MobiBlu, Korea this week began selling their DVH-100 portable video player with a 2.2-inch LCD display capable of playing MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, AVI, XviD and Divx 3.x to 5.x video. It sells right now in Korea for about $390 to $490 USD.

NEXX Inc, has developed a multimedia player that can play MPEG2/DivXvideo as well as MP3 audio. The new product, the portable multimedia player PMP-1200, is available now in Japan
The PMP-1200 features with a 20GB HDD and a 3.5-inch TFTLCD with 260,000 colors, 320 x 240 pixels and touch panel functions. It can play video files such as MPEG1/2/4, DivX, and XviD continuously for up to six hours. It also can play audio files such as MP3, WMA, AA, AC3and OGG.

Microsoft has announced a new service that lets users download videos to mobile devices to watch daily television programming, including news, sports, and other content from MSNB.com, FOX Sports, the Food Network and other content providers.
Microsoft is offering MSN Video Downloads with a low-cost one-year fee of $19.95.
Videos can be downloaded to Windows Mobile-based devices such as Portable Media Centers and select Smartphones and Pocket PCs, Microsoft said in a statement on its Website.
"Readily available digital video content remains a key driver for the portable multimedia player market," said Josh Martin, associate research analyst at IDC.

China's Zhejiang Huahong Optronics Group showed off a new flash-memory portable video player tentatively called the MTV Player at 39th Midem music conference France . Set to go on sale in China in March, the palm-sized gadget features 2 gigabytes of storage space and a 2-inch screen. "The plan is for people to download movies from their computers or from the Web," said company president Wang Yuan Long.
