The ARCHOS Mobile Digital Video Recorder AV 500 is now live on the Archos site. The AV500 features include 30 or 100GB HDD, 4-inch 480 x 272 pixel 262k color screen, and a removable battery. The AV 500 supports MPEG-4, DivX, WMV9, and AVI, PlaysForSure WMA, MP3, JPEG, and USB On-The-Go.

iPodlounge has a preview of the Nyko Movie Player for iPod, which uses Apple's hard disk-based players as storage from which to play back video on its LCD screen reports Gizmodo. So far the Movie Player will only support ASF format videos. Nyko is aiming for a November release for around $200-$250.

CNet takes a look at the Zen Vision (Portable Video Player or PVP) from Creative. The Creative Zen Vision will be available in two flavors: 20GB or 30GB. The USB 2.0 device has a VGA 64,000-color, 3.7-inch screen ,FM radio, voice recording, a small built-in speaker, a removable lithium-polymer battery, a CompactFlash Type I slot , and though not yet officially confirmed, it will play MP3, DRM-protected WMA, WAV, JPEG, TIFF, MPEG-4, WMV, and DivX files, as well as a host of other media formats reports CNet.

Taiwanese based, Tatung (www.tatung.com) is showing off the Tatung V620 at the Microsoft Windows Mobile floor space at Computex this week. The Tatung V620 is a Windows CE 5.0 based personal video player that has a great screen (according to bargainpda.com) and DivX video playback.

Monday, Consumer electronics maker Axion announced two new portable DVD players - the $299 AXN-6090, and the $149 AXN-6053.
Both players share many features in common. Besides allowing you to view DVDs and listen to audio CDs, they also have a credit card size remote, rechargeable batteries, wide screen (16:9 aspect ratio) support and a special built-in port (Axi-Port) that supports optional accessories like a TV tuner and gaming joystick pre-loaded with Sega games. Digital Cube, Korea, is set to introduce the 2nd generation of the i-Station called the i-Station i2 from May 23rd. Known features include USBOTG and GPS, 20Gb and 30Gb versions, in-line remote and 5.1 channel sound output and SRS effects.
