A manual for the European version of the HDR-HC3 camcorder, a lower-end follow-up to the popular high definition (HD) HCR-HC1, has been released on the Internet. The new HC3 features the ability to record 1080i HD quality video, a 1/3” CMOS sensor, a 2,103,000 gross pixel count, and a 10x optical zoom.
It is unclear if the HDR-HC3 is a replacement for the HDR-HC1 or meant to complement it in the line writes CamCorderInfo. It is lighter and has many features taken away including the mic jack and zoom ring, according to the released manual. The HDR-HC3, the manual states, will use a Carl Zeiss-Sonnar T* lens, with a 30mm filter diameter with 10x optical and 80x digital zoom, a focal length of 5.1 – 51mm, with a 35mm equivalent of 41.3mm – 485mm in 16:9 aspect ratio, and 50.5 – 594mm in 4:3 aspect ratio.

Sony, Japan has unveiled their new Handycam DCR-SR100, featuring a 30GB hard disk drive. The 30GB HDD allows you to record up to 7 hours and 20 minutes of video in HQ mode (9Mbps), 10 hours and 50 minutes of video in SP mode (6Mbps), or 20 hours and 50 minutes of video in LP mode (3Mbps) writes portablegadgets.net
The DCR-SR100 comes with advanced shock proof design to protect its 1.8-inch HDD even when you’re recording your video. It employs a CCD sensor with effective resolutions of up to 2.06-megapixel for video and up to 3.05-megapixel for still image. Its lenses provide up to 10x optical zoom (up to total of 120x zoom including digital zoom in video recording mode), F1.8~2.9 aperture, 42.8~495mm (16:9) or 45~450mm (4:3) focal length in video mode and 40.6~406 (16:9) or 37~370mm (4:3) focal length in still image mode.
This handycam will hit the market on March 3rd in Japan

Panasonic has unveiled the Lumix DMC-FZ7 digital camera, an update of the existing DMC-FZ5 model with increased resolution.
Sporting a new six megapixel imager, the FZ7's body looks largely similar to its predecessor.
Other updates in the DMC-FZ7 include a larger 2.5" LCD display, high-res (848x480 and 640x480) movie modes, and a new 710mAh battery pack. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 will go on sale in March 2006, with pricing set at $399.95.

Sony this week unveiled its new Sony XDCAM HD system including two new camcorders and two decks. The same Professional Disc media used in the standard definition version of the XDCAM system is also compatible with the new HD version. Now, professional users can record up to two hours of high definition content on the versatile optical media, maintaining their workflow continuity by combining HD resolution with the same IT-based benefits.

Samsung has announced the GX-1S, a new six mega-pixel digital SLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) camera .
Launching in February, the new interchangeable lens GX-1S is Samsung's first digital SLR camera, developed in conjunction with Pentax.
Offering high portability and mobility through its compact design, the GX-1S will weigh just 505 grams and house a 23.5mm x 15.7mm CCD image sensor. The 3200 ISO equivalent allows high sensitivity shooting in indoor environments.
The GX-1S also provides a continuous shooting speed of 2.8 frames per second (up to eight frames in JPEG mode). Read More

At CES 2006, Vivitar announced their new 10 Megapixel camera the ViviCam X60. The Vivicam X60 features a 6X optical and 8X digital zoom and a large 2.8 inch 2.8 inch color LTPS LCD display. With the 10 Megapixel CCD sensor you can take snaps in JPEG format at 3650 x 2736 resolution. It has SD card slot it can take cards up to 1GB.The Vivitar X60 can record video at 640 x 480 at 30 fps. It measures 93 x 57 x 25.5 mm and weighs 150 grams.

Hasselblad has announced the H2D-39, the world's first 39MP digital SLR and three 39MP digital camera backs.
The H2D-39 based on Hasselblad's H2 camera is a high performance, shutter-based lens DSLR is compatible with the Hasselblad H System lenses and V camera lenses. Features include Digital APO Correction (DAC) and Instant Approval Architecture.
The CFH-39, CF-39 and CF-39MS (Multi Shot) are digital backs aimed at professional photographers and feature Hasselblad's i-Adaptor interchangeable camera interface. An optional Multi-Shot Module uses a multiple-exposure technique to increase the colour resolution in a studio environment, producing moiré-free photos with a unique colour resolution.
