Canon PowerShot SD430

Canon has announced the SD430, a new compact PowerShot camera. The is the first Canon model to feature build-in WiFi (802.11b). Other features of the 5 mp SD430 include a 3x zoom and 'WA-1N Wireless Print Adapter' which provides WiFi printing to PictBridge compatible printers.

Casio Exilim Card EX-S600

Casio has today announced its latest slimline addition to the Exilm Card range in the form of the EX-S600. Features of the 6 Megapixel camera include Anti-shake DSP mode to reduce blurring in moving subjects, Revive Shot, which refreshes faded colors of old album photos and 15cm macro mode. XDCAM HD camcorder with Blu-ray support

Come March 2006, Sony will release the XDCAM HD camcorder which will support the recording of high definition footage directly to a Blu-ray disc. The new XDCAM HD camcorder will record at 1080i in a variety of bit-rates: 25 Mbps, 35 Mbps and 18 Mbps.

While most high-end camcorders record to tape, Sony took a different route for the XDCAM. Footage is captured and then stored onto the disc in MPEG-2 format. The disc is rewritable and allows for fast transfers to a harddrive and easy search of clips. Unlike tape, a video producer can skip to a clip shot in the middle of a shoot - tape users have to rewind or fast-forward to a clip.

Fujifilm today announced the launch of the FinePix Z2 Zoom, a super-slim digital compact offering 5.1 megapixels, a high resolution 2.5" LCD monitor and improved sensitivity up to ISO 1600, all housed within a chic, sleek body. The FinePix Z2 will be available in November.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N1

Sony today announced the compact and rather unique Cyber-shot DSC-N1. The Cyber-shot DSC-N1 features a wide viewing angle three inch touch screen LCD designed to act as both camera control and display writes dpreview. The camera also features Sony's own eight megapixel 1/1.8" CCD sensor with sensitivity up to ISO 800, this is coupled to a three times optical zoom lens. The DSC-N1 should cost around $499
