Sony , Japan has announced the "HVR-A1J" business model HDV camera. The HVR-A1J will be available in Japan from September for 278,250 Yen.
Specifications of the HVR-A1J are almost equal to HDR-HC1. Features include veneer CMOS sensor ( 2.8-megapixel), 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios animated picture photographing pixels, DV (480i), 1080/60i image resolution 1,440x1,080 dot video recording and a 2.7-inch wide hybrid, touch-panel LCD screen to access menu options

Nikon has announced the weatherproof Coolpix S2. It is very similar to the Coolpix S1 reports Dpreview; the only differences seem to be cosmetic. Pentax has announced the five megapixel SVi, a another addition to the Optio range. An update to the SV, the SVi has a 5x optical zoom, 1.8-inch LCD, impressive 3cm macro function and 320x240 movie mode. The aluminum alloy-bodied camera has an 'enhanced' grip achieved by placing a resin element on the front right hand side. Pentax has announced three new digital camera additions to its popular Optio digital camera lines. The PENTAX Optio S5z, the Optio S55 and the Optio S45.
The Optio S5z boasts a 2.5 inch monitor to optimize image composition and playback, a 3X optical zoom and the power of 5.0 effective megapixels. The Optio S5z features an aluminum alloy exterior and a rounded corner design and rubber grip. Measuring just 3.3 x 2.2 x 0.8 inches and weighing only 3.7 ounces (without battery), the small size of the Optio S5z is made possible through the innovative PENTAX Sliding Lens system that moves the powerful lens up and away as it retracts into the camera.
