 | | Swelling Battery on the 17" MacBook Pro? |
Hardmac claims to be receiving complaints from Apple lovers , who say the battery on the 17" MacBook Pro is swelling - pointing to a possible defective series of batteries.
I am the system administrator of a research lab and I have been facing the "swelling battery" issue. among 4 MacBook Pro 17" Core Duo ordered, three of them had swelling battery, and should be replaced. The first sign of the problem that will lead latter on to the swelling syndrome is the random shunt-down of the notebook when running on battery. sometimes, it can also be identified by a lower reactivity of the trackpad, due to the pressure of the swelling battery.

The Apple iPhone is still on track for June, but insiders fear that something else brewing.
Our source also confirmed from Foxconn/Hon Hai that "it does not look feasible that Apple will be able to ship units out in May to make the shipping date in the US (June), so expect units to trickle by end of June or early July." I'm not a fan of "trickling" myself, although I can't deny that it wasn't fully expected—this is Apple we're talking about here, after all. So what are we talking, in terms of availability? "It is doubtful they will have enough units on hand to meet the demand."

Microsoft's Asia-Pacific chief, Chris Sorenson has slammed Apple's iPhone as 'irrelevant'.
"It's a great music phone, and I'm sure it will be fantastic and have an interesting user interface," Microsoft's Asia-Pacific head of smartphone strategy Chris Sorenson told press during a recent visit to Australia.
"However, it's a closed device that you cannot install applications on, and there's no support for Office documents. If you're an enterprise and want to roll out line of business applications, it's just not an option. Even using it as a heavy messaging device will be a challenge," the executive added.
