Intel based Apple iBook notebook computers coming in June

Asustek Computer Inc has secured a contract from Apple Computer Inc for iBook notebook personal computers.

The laptops will be powered by Intel Corp microprocessors and equipped with 13.3-inch liquid crystal display panels report Forbes.

Apple Computer will start selling the notebook PCs from June, while contract suppliers of panels to start deliveries from April.

Apple vs Europe

Apple Computer Inc, the provider of Mac and iPod, is battling it out on two fronts in Europe this week as it fights to protect its popular iTunes music service reports xinhuanet

Last week, Apple began its trademark defense against the Beatles record label Apple Corps just days after the French government approved a bill that would break open Apple Computer's profitable online music store to rivals.

For Apple, which celebrated its 30th birthday April 1, the moves come just as the market for digital music in Europe is exploding, with France being the largest digital music market after Britain and Germany.

Apple iPod Volume Control

Apple Computer has released the iPod Software Update 1.1.1 - a free downloadable update that allows users to set a maximum volume limit for their iPods. The release follows a lawsuit filed against Apple by a Louisiana man - John Kiel Patterson, who claims that his iPod is capable of generating more than 115 decibels which is a dangerous noise level capable of causing damage to a person s hearing.

Touchscreens offered for Intel iMacs

Troll Touch has announced the availability of touch-enabled Intel iMacs. Troll Touch’s TouchSTART 3 iMac touch-enabling solution allows you to transform your computer into an instant kiosk, mall directory, POS terminal, virtual MLS book, personal communications device and so on. The touchscreens are available for both the 17-inch and 20-inch models, but machines must be custom supplied.

Pricing is US$2,275 or $2,675 for 17- and 20-inch Intels.
