According to a report on MobileMag, Apple Computer --of iPod fame -- is hiring RF engineers specifically those with EDGE experience. The rumor mill is going wild with speculation... It is rumored that Apple could launch an EDGE enabled iPod by this fall. This would be great ... one of the big problems I have with the iPod is not being able to download music whenever. This development could lend some weight on the “Mobile Me” trademark that Apple filed some time ago reports Ubergizmo ... That said the hiring could also be for the iPhone and have nothing to do with actual iPod player...

Apple has made changes to its iTunes music software in response to complaints that it abused user privacy reports BBC
Last week Apple issued a new version (6.02) of iTunes that includes a "MiniStore" that recommends songs or videos for users to purchase based on items in their library. When you clicked on an item in your library, the "store" would display a list of similar selections that you might consider purchasing.
An investigation by bloggers found that the recommendation system used unique identifiers for each user in a way that could compromise privacy.
The revised iTunes warns users about data being collected and lets them switch off the recommendation system.

Apple Computer has filed for trademarks on two new iPod terms with Hong Kong's Intellectual Property Department. The new terms, iPod Hi-Fi, iPod Boombox appear to reference unreleased iPod products or services, AppleInsider reports
In a filing made on September 20, 2005, the iPod maker requested a trademark on the term "iPod Hi-Fi," seemingly in reference to an iPod that can reproduce sound, images and video at a higher fidelity than today's models. Alternatively, it's plausible that the term was a name the company once considered for its fifth-generation iPod players that include video capabilities.
Meanwhile, a second filing made by Apple on June 13th requested a trademark on the term "iPod Boombox." Again, Apple described the device or service broadly, using the same specification description it used in the filing for the iPod Hi-Fi trademark.

Listen to FM radio on your iPod nano and control everything with a convenient wired remote from Apple Computer.
About the FM Radio
Just plug in your iPod Radio Remote and select "Radio" from the main iPod menu. Tuning takes place right there in the color display with your Click Wheel, just as you'd set a classic analog radio. Easily mark a favorite station for quick access later, and switch between favorite stations using either the iPod or the remote.
If you're listening to a station that supports the Radio Data System (RDS) standard, you can even see song title/artist or radio station information in the iPod display.* The iPod Radio Remote supports FM stations from 87.5 to 107.9MHz (in both the US and European standards) and 76 to 90MHz (the Japanese standard). You can switch between the different standards when traveling.
