Mac Minis are now pre-installed with Mac OS X verion 10.4 Tiger which includes desktop search technology called "Spotlight". Spotlight lets users instantly search anything stored on the hard drive including documents, emails, contacts and images.

unconfirmed tips indicate that Apple's iBook laptop will receive a refresh very soon - possibly this week reports Think Secret
In April, DigiTimes reported that laptop manufacturer Quanta had landed a contract to manufacture 14.1-inch widescreen iBooks. The publication added that fellow manufacturer Asustek had snagged a deal to produce 15.4-inch widescreen iBooks in 2006.
Apple last revised the iBook in October 2004.

Tivoli Audio has announced the iSongBook, a portable radio with built-in iPod docking/recharging station. The iSongBook will ship in October for $329.
iSongBook: The iPod-color portable radio features flip-down dock for any current or previous-generation iPod ( expection iPod shuffle) Its included credit-card remote operates iPod and AM/FM functions, and an included second speaker can be detached from the main chassis to widen the stereo image. The speaker includes a cable-rewind mechanism to manage the included 6-foot audio cable.
It operates on AC or six AA-size batteries, and it features built-in battery charger to recharge AA-size NiMH and lithium-ion batteries.
Other features include digital alarm clock, ability to fall asleep or wake up to iPod-stored music, an audio input to amplify music from any MP3 headphone stereo, 2x10-watt amplification, telescoping FM antenna, and 9k/10k switch for AM reception outside North America. The book-shaped system, at 6.19 inches by 11.06 inches by 2.19 inches, is sized to fit easily inside a suitcase, briefcase or backpack.

Apple Computer may have plans to introduce its own version of a popular iPod accessory that allows users to secure the digital music player in a cup-holder cavity of an automobile, documents have revealed reports Apple Insider.
In a February filing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Apple describes the "electronic device holder" as an "apparatus that can secure an electronic device and be inserted into a conventional cup holder. The cup holder, for example, is inside of an automobile."

More than 1 million subscribers have signed up to Apple Computer' new iTunes podcast service since launch. Apple includes the podcasting capability with iTunes 4.9, the latest version of its music downloading and listening software reports Market Watch.
Although downloading audio files over the Internet has been possible for years, the growing popularity of portable MP3 players and cellphones that play digital audio files is creating demand for online distribution and challenging conventional radio reports New York Times.
