Onkyo iPod dock

Onkyo has developed a remote interactive (RI) dock that interfaces Apple's iPod with ONKYO receivers and audio-video systems The RI dock provides compatibility between specified iPod models and many of the ONKYO products (as many as five million worldwide)* produced over the past 10 years. Users of both the iPod and ONKYO products will benefit from even greater flexibility with-and enjoyment of-digital media, as well as superior audio performance.

Tiger Spotlight

In a chat with Business Week Apple CEO Steve Jobs described Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger as "our biggest leap forward since the original Macintosh in 1984." The new upgrade hailed by Jobs as one more reason to buy a Mac, because it's so far ahead of Windows will sell for about $129, release date Friday, April 29, at 6pm. Jobs joked: "This is one of those rare occasions when a major software release is actually early."

Apple Shares drop

Apple Computer Inc. shares fell 9% Thursday, as concerns over revenue expectations over powered second-quarter sales of more than 5 million iPods and a six-fold increase in quarterly profit. The maker of iPods and Macintosh computers reported Revenue forecast for the current quarter was largely in line with Wall Street expectations rather than exceeding them. Apple fell $3.78 to close at $37.26 after reporting late Wednesday a profit of $290 million, or 34 cents a share, on revenue of $3.24 billion for its second quarter, which ended March 26.

Apple's Tiger is ready

Apple' latest major update of its Mac OS X operating system, code-named Tiger, is set for release on April 29. Apple Computer first announced Tiger last June, and said Tuesday that it had met its self-imposed deadline of making the software commercially available in the first half of 2005. Apple Computer settled a lawsuit March 23rd with one of its developers, Doug Steigerwald, that leaked a copy of Mac OS X Tiger on a file-sharing Web site.

"There are a lot of new features in Tiger, including a much more powerful Safari Browser, a much better e-mail client and something called the Automator, which is a simplified scripting system that quickly and easily can automate repetitive tasks," Tim Bajarin, president of Creative Strategies said.
