Verizon Wireless says the Motorola Q will not launch next week. The news follows the launch of Verizon promotions touting the fact that it will be the first wireless carrier to offer this Windows Mobile Smartphone reportsBrightHand.
The response from a Verizon spokesperson was unequivocal. "We do not have a launch event scheduled for next week."
According to a NODRM source at Verizon, the Motorola Q will not be launching this month. Coming out of “friendly-user testing,” Verizon is looking for keyboard modifications thought to be along the lines of bigger keys and some changes to the way certain keys interact with the phone’s OS.
According to ImportGSM, Motorola Q will be available on June 30th for $700. At less than a half-inch thick with a full Qwerty-style keyboard and a Windows Mobile 5 operating system, the Q phone is expected to deliver the sleekness of the Razr and the functionality of a PDA. Uber Gizmo is reporting that the Motorola Q will be undergoing a "Friendly-User" testing starting next week on the Verizon Network. After that and a few loose ends, the Q should be out in April.
Gizmodo is reporting that the Motorola Q could be available via Verizon this week.
In an interview this (last) week, a Motorola design manager told a Gizmodo reader that the Q could be released as soon as next week. What makes us think it might be legit? He was holding a working model in his hands, and it was up and running on Verizon’s network.
