TV-Phone is here

Retyper writer Henry Cruz rants about TV-Phone

HUDLE TOGETHER and watch the TV on my new cell-phone -- yep, it's coming: TV-phone.
mobitv.jpg
Okay, you might need glasses to see it -- but if you're on the road it just might do.

MSNBC says it just might be the next big thing; although the small screen thing might be a challenge.

The "Hollywood" chip

Texas Instruments has announced plans to offer the first cell phone capable of receiving high definition TV broadcast signals.

The "Hollywood" chip will capture digital signals and let you watch live TV broadcasts. The Hollywood is expected to have samples in 2006 with mass marketing in 2007 by that time you will probably be able to get XM & Sirius on your phone as well. -

Jet Engine Please.

Cell phone way to heavy, giving you an unwanted arm workout? Help is on the way via a coat button size jet engine that could power your electronics, this engine would significantly decrease weight of your cell phone, PDA, laptop, etc., in addition it cuts the need for constant battery recharge, so your excuse of your battery is dying to get off the phone might soon be out.

Jet-Engine-Please.jpg

Well that's the good news - the bad news this baby shoots off tiny stream of hot exhaust gas, so unless you don't mind having a hole in your pockets you will probably end up wearing this on your belt, which then poses the risk of getting your arms burnt - needs some work but just think of the possibilities MORE via TechnologyReview
