September 19, 2007 UK iPhone to Launch on O2 Apple UK iPhone to Launch on O2 Apple's iPhone is set for UK launch. The iPhone will be available from the beginning of November, costs 269 pounds and is available on O2 . iPhone lovers will need to sign an 18-month contract reports T3 . The UK version of the iPhone is about the same as the US version. At the launch announcement Steve Jobs talked about why Apple went with EDGE over 3G, Jobs claims that introducing 3G to the iPhone would reduce the talk time - to 2.5 hours.
