Sony has released version 2.60 of the PlayStation Portable firmware in Japan and North America, expanding on the functionality of the console with the addition of features including WMA audio playback and RSS feed reading.

The RSS capability uses RSS 2.0 technology to link to RSS-distributed audio content. Content can be accessed in MP3 or MP4 format. Only digital audio content will be supported by the RSS feature.

Another update in this version is the ability to download copyright-protected video data directly to a Memory Stick Duo.
