Microsoft to license Xbox 360 software to third parties? No

Speaking to GameSpot, Microsoft officials denied plans to license the software underlying its Xbox gaming machine to a variety of outside companies in a bid to expand the market share for the Xbox machine. "To be clear, Xbox will continue to be manufactured exclusively by Microsoft," said a rep for the company. "There's certainly a potential for other hardware companies to manufacture Xbox some day in the future, but that is not something we're focused on right now."
