That's a lot more than the PSOne or PS2 had in their coming out periods reports IGN. November 2004, rumors of a Motorola RAZRberry spread like wildfire across tech blogs, to date the product has yet to materialize. The RAZRberry is described as 'just as thin and has the same styling as their RAZR V3 cellphone but is wide enough to fit a QWERTY mini-keyboard. The RAZRberry is likely to run on some version of Windows Mobile and come out sometime in the middle of 2005" Engadget reported in November. Well it is just about the middle of 2005 and an image purporting to be of the Motorola RAZRberry has surfaced. Logitech has confirmed it will have products on the market when Xbox 360 hardware launches.

NVIDIA's CFO Marv Burkett speaking at a J.P. Morgan technology conference said the PlayStation 3's RSX (the hardware's GPU) isn't finished, still remains in development, and no silicon of the chip is available yet, reports Bit-Tech. Burkett says the RSX demonstrations weren't actually running on the RSX, but an upcoming NVIDIA high-end desktop product in SLI mode.

HP, Dell and Lenovo are among the PC makers launching business desktops using Intel Corp.'s new dual-core Pentium D processor and accompanying chip set. Intel's new technology was announced Thursday in San Francisco. The desktop processor is the second dual-core desktop chip from the Santa Clara, Calif., chip maker, and it comes less than a week before rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc. launches its Athlon 64 X2 dual-core PC chip. Tuesday in Multnomah County, Cecilia Barnes, 48, sued Yahoo Inc for $3 million , alleging the Internet site failed to fulfill a promise to remove nude pictures of her from the Web. Barnes claims an ex-boyfriend began posting unauthorized personal profiles of her containing the photos in December. The profiles included her e-mail address and work phone number reports Business Week.

David Massy, a senior Microsoft program manager, said in his blog that users who install Netscape 8.0 and use IE to visit an XML file or XML file with an XSLT transformation applied, will get a blank page instead of the content they were after.

Massy gave two options for correcting the problem. One was uninstalling Netscape 8.0 and the other deleting the XML node from a Registry file called HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftInternet ExplorerPluginsExtension.

Thursday, Intel Corp unveiled its new dual-core processor Pentium D for use in desk-top PCs. Intel Corp. vowed to sell millions of them by the end of the year reports Business Week.

"We're shipping 100,000 this quarter, and we're going to ship millions by the end of the year," said Gerald Holzhammer, vice president of Intel's Digital Home Group. "This is a big deal for us. It's the first time dual core will make a real impact on the marketplace."

A forthcoming Microsoft service, Virtual Earth, will compete directly against a service called Google Earth, which will feature high-resolution imagery, three-dimensional buildings in some cities and driving directions, among other features.

Members of the London Action Plan (LAP), the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and government agencies in 18 other countries, have launched Operation Spam Zombies - a campaign to help fight spam.

Apple says the next version of its iTunes music management program will give people a way to find and subscribe to podcasts, MP3 audio files online.

Podcasts are downloadable "radio shows" that can be created and listened to by anyone with the right equipment.

Listeners subscribe to shows for free, the latest of which is sent automatically to digital music players.

Free programs have been built to do this already, but now Apple says iTunes will have this function built in.

"With the next version of iTunes, due within 60 days, there will now be an easy way for everyone to find and subscribe to podcasts", Apple said in a statement.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.,has announced that it has developed the first Solid State Disk (SSD) based on NAND Flash memory technology for consumer and mobile PC applications.

The NAND-based SSD is a low power, lightweight storage media for notebook PCs, sub-notebook PCs and tablet PCs. Using the industry's highest density 8Gb (Gigabit) NAND Flash, Samsung can build SSDs with a capacity of up to 16GB.

Hironobu Sakaguchi of Final Fantasy fame hopes to create a new game of Final Fantasy proportions for Microsoft's new console, the Xbox 360. It is hoped that a successful game could help push Xbox 360 units in Japan.

The original Xbox has fared badly there (Japan), struggling to sell in one of the world's liveliest video games market. Only 1.7 million have sold in Asia. That compares with more than 13 million in the US and another five million in Europe reports BBC. "While the top-selling Xbox games in the US are shooting titles such as Halo, in Japan, the big hitters tend to be role-playing and adventure games."

Apple Computer Inc has been in talks that could lead to it using Intel Corp. chips in its Macintosh computers, The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday. The report, citing two industry executives with knowledge of recent discussions between the companies, said Apple was expected to agree to use Intel chips. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., has announced that it has produced the first 90-nanometer production samples of 512-Megabit XDR (eXtreme Data Rate) DRAM, the fastest memory for multimedia applications.

The Samsung 512Mb XDR DRAM can transmit data with up to 9.6 GigaBytes per second, 12 times faster than DDR400 memory and 6 times faster than leading RDRAM (PC 800) devices. It uses advanced 90-nanometer memory technology to achieve a peak operating speed of 4.8Gbps at 1.8 volts.

The memory device targets high-performance broadband applications that need advanced digital imaging or 3D graphics, such as the latest game consoles, digital TVs, high-end servers and premium workstations.
