DVD-LX95 portable DVD player

Matsushita Electric Industries Corporation, Japan will release two portable DVD players with 9" widescreen TFT LCDs. Both are Open Price. The estimated retail price and release date of the "DVD-LX95" is 80,000 yen on June 15th, and the "DVD-LS90" for 60,000 yen on July 1st. Both models include remote controls.

The DVD-LX95 portable DVD player features include integrated TV tuner, widescreen 9" alpha-Si TFT LCD, FM transmitter to broadcast audio to FM radios, Playable discs, besides DVD-Video, include DVD-Audio, DVD-RAM (VR), DVD-RW (Video/VR), DVD-R (Video), DVD+R (Video) and DVD+RW (Video).

Also, the unit can playback JPEG still image and MPEG-4 video files recorded on DVD-RAM, as well as MP3, WMA, JPEG, and MPEG-4 files stored on CD-R/RW. An SD card slot is also furnished, where the playback of JPEG and MPEG-4 files is supported.

A "VUADBLS90" lithium ion battery is included, and charging it takes roughly 5 hours. This will allow for 6 hours of DVD playback or 7.5 hours of TV/SD card playback. Also available is the "DY-DBLS55 (26,250 yen)" large capacity battery, allowing for 10 hours of DVD playback or 12.5 hours of TV/SD card playback.More
