The recently announced Philips 32-inch "32PF9630A" LCD FlatTV will the first TV with Philips' proprietary ClearLCD technology launched in the US. market. The ClearLCD technology uses scanning and backlight dimming technology to create images on an LCD screen with much great motion clarity and contrast. This scanning backlight technology is combined with a new backlight module, using Philips' HCFL lamps, allowing for deeper dimming of the lamps, resulting in better black level, higher contrast and a larger viewing angle. The technology provides high contrast with a flicker-free, quiet image and increases the LCD display viewing angle.

The 32PF9630A also features Pixel Plus 2 HD technology for sharper images in addition to technology that enables viewers to access digital content on their TVs via the latest connectivity, including two HDMI, two USB connectors and a digital memory card reader.

Available in September 2005, the suggested retail price of the 32PF9630A is $2,199.
