MP3 and MPEG-4 video playback on Game Boy Advance SP

Nintendo Co.JP has started online reservation of the new adapter for the Game Boy Advance SP that will let the handheld play back MPEG-4 video and MP3 audio files much like the Sony PSP. The adapter called Playan will be released on February 21st for 5,000 Yen ($48). The adapter has a slot that accepts SD cards and includes a built-in Broadcom VC01PXX-ES2 hardware decoder. Supports up to a 1GB SD card. Features 128x96, 176x144, 240x176, 320x240 and 352x288 dot resolution for video playback, ( 64kbps -- 1Mbps bit rate and 6 - 30fps frame rate support), MPEG-4 & ASF support, MP3 playback support (maximum bit rate 1.5Mbps) & SD-Video support. Video playback 4 hours while music playback with screen OFF 15 hours,( 8hrs screen on)
