The "virtual white cane" prototype based on the advances that have been made in computer vision is one if the new tools developed by Roberto Manduchi, an assistant professor of computer engineering, and his students." The virtual cane combines a laser & digital camera to scan the environment and send audio feedback (tactical feedback in the works)
