Home Entertainment

Sharp Corporation has announced the "BD-HD1000" Blu-Ray recorder with built-in hard drive -- if you have not been keeping up with all things Blu-Ray - this hailed as the potential dvd killer because of the storage capacity of the Blu-Ray discs. Although the BD-HD1000 only supports single layer Blu-Ray (23GB & 25GB supported) this is the start of amazing things with the new format. The BD-HD1000 recorder features include a Blu-Ray disc drive, DVD-R/RW drive, and 160GB hard drive. It supports Blu-Ray disc recording/playback as well as the recording/playback of DVD-R/RW discs.
