PC World has a first look at the NEC LT265 Wi-Fi Projector. The $2495 projector has a native XGA (1024 by 768) resolution, 2500 lumens, lets you control your PC remotely via the projector (or broadcast images from one laptop to multiple projectors); and a USB port that recognizes flash memory drives.

Overall PC-World thinks the $2495 Projector is a solid buy giving it 4 1/2 stars out of 5, I am a little puzzled about such a high rating after stating stuff like "test images and a test video DVD, colors appeared muted, lacking punch and vibrancy. Adjusting the image presets to graphics or movie mode helped but didn't optimize the view. The unit comes with an unusually large number of sophisticated image fine-tuning options in its menus; but while I appreciated the options (including the ability to project images onto a color background), the menu design made the adjustment process tedious." Moreover, PC card-to-projector connections Max out at 802.11b speeds, or you'll have to use a wireless router for speedier 802.11g connectivity." After all that it still out a 4.5 rating, so it must be ab fab. Be warned according to PC World the wireless setup requires a Masters.
