Hitachi HDTV recorder

Home Entertainment

Impress.co.jp has a pretty in-depth look at Hitachi's new 400GB hard-disk-drive-based video recorder that supports HDTV recording - The recorder released in Japan late October is available in two models? The 200,000 yen ($1,820) DV-DH400T has a 400GB drive, and the 160,000 yen DV-DH250T has a 250GB drive. The DV-DH400T has enough space for 40hours of HDTV recording or 555 hours of standard-definition TV. The DV-DH400T also supports DVD recording for the SDTV - DVD doesn't support HDTV.
