Apple Computer filed a patent on August 24, 2004, for an "ornamental
design for a display device with a moveable assembly . This image was included
in a patent application.
I like the idea of the dual-arm but that base is not pretty . I am sure
it would look much better in person, looking at my imac now the base looks
almost like a pyramid, so it might just work .

The Tube Lamp conceived as a sly spoof of the expensive vacuum tube audio
amps. Standard tubular light bulbs are controlled by a current-limited dimmer
circuit that ensures that the bulbs last a long time and wont burn fingers.
According to Gizmodo, these bulbs can be purchased at your local home depot
store. Chrome controls include a knurled knob appropriated from a Fender
Telecaster electric guitar which can light up the room or be dimmed down
to create a mysterious night light.

Over 200 of the patrol officers bussed in as part of the Department of Homeland
Security's ramp up to the Republican National Convention will be equipped
with wirelessly networked helmet cameras. Each of the helmet cams will broadcast
back to a central control room where officials will be able to monitor and
compile a bigger picture of what exactly is being seen by the security officers.
The units don't use Wi-Fi, though, so cracking the system used by the security
forces might be a little difficult (if that's your thing). Instead, the
camera uploads via satellite, which then travels back to the central booth
via an encrypted internet stream.

IBM's new ultra-compact desktop, the ThinkCentre S50, which was launched
into the space-conscious Japanese market The S50 measures 27.6 x 27.3 x
8.9cm, footprint that's 92 per cent of an A4-sized notebook, IBM said.
Despite the small size, the manufacturer provides a 3.2GHz 'Prescott' Pentium
4, though not in its Socket T form. Still, IBM reckons the units "rectilinear"
cooling system, which pulls air in at the front, over the CPU, etc. and
out of the back, is sufficient to keep the machine from overheating.
The S50 is based on an i865GV chipset with integrated graphics. There's
1GB of DDR SDRAM in there too, a DVD drive and an 80GB hard disk. Six USB
2.0 ports, legacy connectors and Gigabit Ethernet are among the I/O devices
included, but expansion is limited to a single PCI slot.
